"Shine", the new album by Bernie Marsden, will be released on August 18, 2014 on Provogue! At a rough guesstimate Bernie Marsden’s name appears on a hundred albums – maybe more. In addition to a long-running solo career the Buckinghamshire-born guitarist has been a recording musician since the early 1970s via membership of such groups as Whitesnake, UFO, Wild Turkey, Babe Ruth, Paice Ashton & Lord, Cozy Powell’s Hammer, Alaska, M3 and many more.

Though there’s a tendency to pigeonhole him as a blues-rock guitarist, each of Marsden’s acts had its own individual flavour. Although Marsden was wary of flooding the credits with too many special guests, "Shine" does feature some extremely well-known names, from Joe Bonamassa to Whitesnake singer David Coverdale and the Deep Purple duo of Ian Paice (drums) and Don Airey (keyboards). Jimmy Copley of Jeff Beck fame behind the kit and Mark Feltham of Nine Below Zero also supplies some breathtaking harmonica playing.

JIMI HENDRIX: ΚΥΚΛΟΦΟΡΟΥΝ ΣΠΑΝΙΕΣ ΗΧΟΓΡΑΦΗΣΕΙΣ

Η Sundazed Music είναι μια εταιρεία που ειδικεύεται σε επανεκδόσεις δίσκων. Εν προκειμένω, στην περίπτωση του Jimi Hendrix, δεν μιλάμε για επανακυκλοφορίες, αλλά για την κυκλοφορία μίας σειράς από 7’’ βινύλια που θα περιέχουν δυσεύρετες και ακυκλοφόρητες ηχογραφήσεις των Experience (η μπάντα του J. Hendrix). Η αρχή γίνεται τούτο τον μήνα με την κυκλοφορία ενός 7’’ που θα περιέχει δύο ιστορικές εμφανίσεις/ηχογραφήσεις του μεγάλου κιθαρίστα στο BBC το 1967. Πρόκειται για την διασκευή στο "Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window?" του Bob Dylan, που ηχογραφήθηκε για το BBC Radio’s Rhythm and Blues και για το τραγούδι "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" όπως παρουσιάστηκε στην εκπομπή του BBC, Television’s Top of the Pops…

PINK FLOYD: "THE STORY OF WISH YOU WERE HERE"

Έχετε "Wish You Were Here" των Pink Floyd; Το είχατε σε βινύλιο και το αγοράσατε και σε cd για να μην φθείρεται το "κόσμημα" της δισκοθήκης σας; Αν σας αρέσει σε τέτοιο βαθμό ετοιμαστείτε και για dvd. (Οι σούπερ φαν θα πάρουν και το Blu-ray, δηλώνω σίγουρος!) Για την ακρίβεια, το dvd δεν περιλαμβάνει το μουσικό έργο, αλλά την... ιστορία του! "The Story Of Wish You Were Here" τιτλοφορείται και πρωτοκυκλοφόρησε τον Σεπτέμβριο του 1975, εννέα μήνες μετά την κυκλοφορία του δίσκου. JANIS JOPLIN: "PEARL SESSIONS" (REISSUE)

Το κλασικό άλμπουμ της Janis Joplin "Pearl" (1971) θα επανακυκλοφορήσει με τίτλο με νέο (συμπληρωματικό) "The Pearl Sessions" στις 13 Απριλίου. Εκτός απ' τον "κανονικό" δίσκο θα περιλαμβάνει και ακυκλοφόρητες ηχογραφήσεις (υπό μορφή bonus) που μόλις πρόσφατα είδαν το φως της δημοσιότητας. Μια εβδομάδα αργότερα θα κυκλοφορήσει ένα διπλό 10ιντσο βινύλιο, αλλά και σε μονό 12ιντσο (κανονικής κοπής) με τις ίδιες ηχογραφήσεις τιμώντας έτσι την Record Store Day.
