Το σετ των drums παρουσιάσθηκε, μετρήθηκε, ζυγίστηκε (επιβεβαιώνοντας τα παραπάνω νούμερα) και κέρδισε μία θέση στο βιβλίο των παγκοσμίων ρεκόρ Guiness της νέας χρονιάς (2014).

Sexy Rock: Jess Greenberg

Η πανέμορφη Jess Greenberg μας έρχεται από το Λονδίνο, είναι μόλις 18 ετών κι επαγγέλλεται μουσικός: τραγουδίστρια και κιθαρίστρια για την ακρίβεια. Παίζει κιθάρα τα τελευταία οκτώ χρόνια (από τα δέκα της) και τραγουδάει από τότε που θυμάται τον εαυτό της απ' ότι λέει η ίδια. Τον τελευταίο καιρό έχει γίνει πασίγνωστη στο you tube γιατί ανεβάζει βιντεάκια στο κανάλι της με διασκευές γνωστών (rock κυρίως) τραγουδιών! Μα δεν αρκεί αυτό. Deep Purple: "Above And Beyond"

Η ενημέρωση των Deep Purple και της εταιρείας τους (earMUSIC) για το νέο single της μπάντας "Above And Beyond":

«After the release of the singles "All The Time in The World" and "Vincent Price", Deep Purple announce the release of the 3rd single "ABOVE AND BEYOND" taken from the successful album "NOW What?!", on October 25th 2013, on earMUSIC.

ABOVE AND BEYOND is an affectionate homage to founding member Jon Lord to whom the band dedicated the whole album ("Souls, Having Touched, are Forever Entwined")

A European Limited Edition of "NOW What?!" will also hit the stores in November 8th. A Second CD "NOW What?! The Live Tapes" will feature some of the many magic moments from the first part of the "NOW What?! tour".

The second disc will also be released as double LP (limited edition to 3000 numbered copies). 12 songs, from the band´s personal archive will now be made public, for fans´enjoyment who will be able to live again what happened on stage, exactly as it came out of the speakers.

The Single ABOVE AND BEYOND will be released in two formats:

1) 7" purple vinyl limited edition:

Deep Purple: Perfect Strangers

1984 saw the long-awaited reunion of the classic Deep Purple Mark II line-up of Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.

It was the first time they had been together since 1973. They recorded a brand new studio album, "Perfect Strangers" and headed out on tour.

This show was filmed in Melbourne, Australia and is the only full length concert film of the band at this time. It's a stunning concert with the band in incendiary form.

The setlist mixes then new tracks from the "Perfect Strangers" album with favourites from the early seventies culminating in the brilliant "Smoke On The Water" finale. This is without doubt one of the finest Deep Purple concerts ever filmed and a must have for their legions of fans. Available 14/10/2013...

Iggy Pop record label problems

Κυκλοφόρησε προ μηνών το "Ready to Die" του Iggy Pop και των Stooges μέσω της Fat Possum Records. Πρόκειται για το πέμπτο album της μπάντας και το δεύτερο -"στουντιακό"- μετά την επανασύνδεσή τους στον 21ο αιώνα. (Το πρώτο της επανασύνδεσης ήταν το "The Weirdness", έξι χρόνια πίσω.) Ουσιαστικά (από ενημερωτικής άποψης τουλάχιστον) δεν έχει νόημα να παρουσιάσουμε το διαφημιστικό trailer του δίσκου. Ως "θέμα" είναι μάλλον παρωχημένο. Όμως επειδή το είδα πρόσφατα και το βρήκα έξυπνο και διασκεδαστικό αποφάσισα να το αναρτήσω...

Σαν σήμερα: Jimi Hendrix

Σαν σήμερα, 43 χρόνια πριν, 18 Σεπτεμβρίου του 1970, βρέθηκε νεκρός ο Jimi Hendrix στο ξενοδοχείο Samarkand στο Λονδίνο όπου διέμενε. Ως επίσημη αιτία θανάτου προσδιορίστηκε αναρρόφηση τροφών. Ο τελευταίος άνθρωπος που ήταν μαζί του ήταν η Γερμανίδα σύντροφός του Monika Dannemann. Ο James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix (ή Johnny Allen Hendrix) γεννήθηκε στις 27 Νοεμβρίου 1942 και πέθανε μόλις 28 ετών κάνοντας πράξη το rock moto της εποχής του "Live Fast, Die Young"! Μνημονεύεται γιατί έφερε επανάσταση στο τρόπο που παίζεται η ηλεκτρική κιθάρα, πραγματικός πρωτοπόρος και βιρτουόζος! Και θα συνεχίσει να μνημονεύεται όσο υπάρχουν εραστές της εξάχορδης θεάς. Αγαπημένο του ρητό: "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." Μία μικρή αναφορά στα μουσικά του πεπραγμένα για να θυμούνται οι παλαιοί αλλά (κυρίως) για να μαθαίνουν οι νεότεροι...
